Visit the Farm

What to expect after scheduling your appointment..

First Visit

Release Form: Upon arrival, you'll be asked to complete a brief release/waiver form. (you can do this online before you visit too.) This is standard for any equine-assisted activities and allows you to participate safely. The form covers:

  • Basic personal/contact information

  • Any relevant medical history or accommodations needed

  • Photo/video release (optional)

  • Liability waiver regarding interaction with horses

Our staff will review the form with you and answer any questions.

During Your Visit:

  • pre- and post surveys

  • A guided tour of our facility and introduction to our horse herd

  • Equine grooming activity to build comfort and connection

  • Mindfulness exercises incorporating the horses' movements

  • Expressive therapeutic art session

  • Opportunity to journal/reflect in our peaceful gardens

  • Closing circle to share insights and experiences

Throughout, our trauma-informed professionals will create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to be fully present. We emphasize going at your own pace and honoring personal boundaries.

You'll leave with a deeper sense of grounding, new coping tools, and the inspiration to continue your healing journey.

Please don't hesitate to ask any other questions before your visit. We're committed to ensuring you have a meaningful, transformative experience at AHH.

Please read all information in First visit and wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty.

Please read all First visit information and plan to wear clothes that can get dirty. We do not offer any riding at our sanctuary.  All work is done on the ground.

Schedule a Tour

We are a volunteer run organization and work hard to keep all of our animals healthy and happy.  We respectfully ask that you make a donation when you reserve your time.  All children under 13 need to be supervised, under 8 need to be next to parent.

Thanks for submitting!
