Equine Assisted Education

What Is Equine-Assisted Education?
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential, relationship-centered approach that helps people build communication skills, confidence, emotional awareness, leadership, and self-regulation through interactions with horses.
At Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary, all experiences are ground-based—no riding required.
Horses naturally respond to energy, boundaries, authenticity, and connection, offering powerful opportunities for reflection and growth.
Sometimes slowing down beside a horse helps us better understand ourselves, each other, and the way we move through the world.
What to Expect
Your session will include:
-
A short introduction to horse behavior and safety
-
Guided, hands-on interaction with a horse (non-riding)
-
Time for reflection and integration
Sessions are:
✔ Ground-based (no riding)
✔ Beginner-friendly
✔ Trauma-informed and supportive
We move at the pace of both the horse and the participant.
What You May Experience
Each session is different, but many people leave with:
-
A greater sense of calm and regulation
-
Increased self-awareness
-
Insight into communication and relationships
-
A feeling of connection—to themselves, the horses, and the environment
There is no “right” way to do this.
You are invited to show up exactly as you are.
