The program supports artistic skill development, encourages joyful creative expression, and fosters social connection by creating opportunities for participants to build both new and ongoing relationships within a positive, inclusive environment.

Fun Adventures in the Sanctuary include safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed setting where students of all abilities are welcomed. Activities are non-riding and emphasize relationship, observation, and respectful interaction with animals and the natural environment.

Visit with animals as AHHS - Meet the whole herd!

A fun art learning adventure for ages 6+ with adult. Each week we will explore a different art medium and create art to keep or share. Activities will include a few minutes before or after class to visit with sanctuary animals.

A structured experiential learning program teaching safe equine handling, sanctuary stewardship, observational skills, and relationship-based horsemanship.

This guided, ground-based experiential activity designed to help participants slow down, regulate their nervous system, and reconnect with themselves through intentional time in nature and gentle connection with animals.

The amazing Walser Foundation “Week of Giving” will be bringing up to 30 volunteers to support our work at Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary! Together, we will be tackling spring cleaning projects, helping with feeding, and preparing the sanctuary for our upcoming season of programming.

A playful spring-themed class celebrating birds, horses, and creativity. Participants will explore gentle mindfulness, meet and brush the horses to help them shed their winter coats, and learn to recognize fun Minnesota bird calls.

Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary welcomes the Mpls., Big Brothers/Big Sisters out to AHHS. During our 2 hour adventure everyone will learn about our horses & emotional regulation, go on a goat walk, create a mini mosaic to take home and meet our peacocks and mini horse Zeus.

Participants will learn to mirror a horse’s movements, walk together in soft, steady rhythm, and create a simple found-object mosaic to take home or give away. This gentle class focuses on connection, creativity, and the quiet joy of moving in harmony with our rescue herd.

This mentorship-based mindfulness program provides participants with a safe, affirming, and restorative environment to connect while engaging with horses, peacocks, and guided goat walks. The experience emphasizes relaxation, emotional wellbeing, community connection, and nature-based grounding.

This experience blends seasonal art, outdoor mindfulness, and meaningful animal interactions—a beautiful way to welcome early summer and celebrate creativity, community, and belonging at AHHS.
