Making Space for Change, So Something New Can Take Root
How do we show up for ourselves and each other⦠and how do we make space?
As the busy season begins at Art, Heart & Hoofbeatsāwith new beginnings like our partnership with NAMI MN, new volunteers, and Horse AmbassadorsāFable wanted to reach out⦠to all of the people who need support or want to help.
"Iām Fable. A Swedish Sport Horse.
I came to AHHS hurt and scarredāuntouchableāand when pushed, I struck out at people.
People said I wasnāt safe. That I Would hurt someone. That I might even kill.
They werenāt wrong.
When I was pushedāI pushed back.
Because thatās what survival felt like in my body.

But hereās what changed everything:
They made space for me.
They didnāt rush in.They didnāt force it.They stayed⦠without asking me to be different.
And slowlyā¦I tried.
Now I stand with people who feel just like I didā
Holding everything tight. Staying just far enough away. Not sure itās safe to soften.
So Iāll ask you this:
How do you show up for yourself? How do you show up for others? And where could you make just a little more space?
Take a moment with me.
Breathe in. And exhale⦠slowly. Let your body soften.
You donāt have to fix everything today.
You can just⦠try. And that is enough.
This spaceāwhere horses, art, and nature come togetherāwhere hands can move through art when words arenāt enoughāonly exists because people choose to care."

š 100% volunteer-runš $75,000+ each year to care for us
š Will you help make space for horses like meāand the humans who need this too?
Even $5 helps.Even sharing this makes a difference.
"I didnāt change because someone forced me.
I changed because someone made spaceā¦and chose to stay."
