A Little Bird Told Me… There's a Chance of Sunshine!

Hello, beautiful humans! David here—resident peacock, professional feather fluffer, and expert observer of all things happening at Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary.

Recently, the wonderful staff from 360 Communities visited our herd for an afternoon of animals, art, nature, and a little well-deserved time for themselves.

These humans spend their days caring for others. But today, it was their turn to slow down.

What's Your Inner Weather?

We started with a simple question:

"If your feelings were weather today, what would your forecast be?"

Sunny? Cloudy? A little stormy?

Here's the beautiful thing: Nobody needed to pretend the sun was shining.

As our visitors explored the sanctuary, we checked in again. Had their weather changed?

And something interesting happened.

A visit with a horse, a curious goat, or another animal brought new smiles and moments of calm. With each stop, people noticed how they were feeling and what was changing.

The animals weren't trying to fix anyone's weather. They were simply helping people notice it.

Goats, Paintbrushes & Absolutely No Sense of Time

Next came the goat walk!

Now, I consider myself a bird of great importance. I have a schedule to maintain and feathers to arrange.

The goats? They believe every leaf deserves a personal inspection.

But perhaps they're onto something.

Walking with goats has a wonderful way of bringing people into the present. It's hard to worry about tomorrow when you're watching a goat investigate today's most fascinating weed.

Our visitors also spent time with the horses, explored the sanctuary, and created watercolor paintings.

Colors flowed, conversations grew, and laughter filled the afternoon.

And suddenly—where did the time go?

Apparently, time flies when you're having fun. I should know. I'm a bird.

Finding Calm in the Storm

Here's what I noticed from my very important peacock perspective.

With every animal visit and weather check-in, our guests had another opportunity to slow down and reconnect with themselves.

The horses invited patience. The goats sparked curiosity. Art offered freedom to play. And nature provided space to breathe.

The responsibilities waiting outside the sanctuary hadn't disappeared.

But something had shifted.

Sometimes calm isn't the absence of a storm. It's finding a little peace right in the middle of one.

Can We Come Back Every Week?

At the end of our adventure, everyone shared how the experience had affected them.

And guess what?

Our visitors were already talking about how wonderful it would be to come back every week!

I couldn't agree more. Personally, I think everyone could benefit from a weekly dose of goats, horses, creativity, and fabulous peacock company.

To our friends at 360 Communities, thank you for the important work you do for others. It was a joy to have you spend time caring for yourselves here at AHHS.

And to everyone reading, I have one question:

What's your weather today?

Whatever your forecast, remember that a little connection, creativity, and time in nature can make room for sunshine—even on cloudy days.

With love, feathers, and a spectacular tail,

David the Peacock Chief Feather Officer, Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary
