Experiences at Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary

Learn. Connect. Create. Belong.

Every experience at AHHS is grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-informed experiential learning. Whether you're meeting the herd, creating art, exploring nature, or volunteering alongside others, each experience is designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships, develop resilience, and foster a lasting sense of belonging.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

At AHHS, learning happens through meaningful experiences rather than observation alone. Through rescued horses, creativity, nature, and community, participants actively explore, create, connect, reflect, and contribute. Every experience is intentionally designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships, develop resilience, and foster a lasting sense of belonging.

At AHHS, learning doesn't happen in a classroom alone.

It happens while

  • caring for rescued horses

  • creating art

  • exploring nature

  • volunteering

  • solving problems

  • building relationships

  • contributing to the community

Our Experiences

Whether you're visiting for the first time or returning as part of our community, every experience at AHHS is designed to foster learning, connection, and belonging. Explore the many ways to engage through rescued horses, creativity, nature, and community.

Learn with Horses

Rescued horses help us slow down, observe, communicate, and build trust. Through respectful, non-riding experiences, participants strengthen confidence, leadership, emotional awareness, and meaningful relationships.

Learn Through Community

Learning grows stronger when we learn together. Through volunteering, service projects, Horse Ambassadors, and community events, participants build friendships, develop leadership skills, contribute their strengths, and experience the power of belonging.

Why Equine Experiences Matter

Horses offer immediate, honest feedback through their presence and behavior. Our equine programs invite participants to slow down, observe, and respond with awareness and respect, fostering learning that is grounded, relational, and deeply human.

Funding & Care

Participation fees support equine programs but do not cover the full cost of rescue, care, and operations. Philanthropic support ensures the lifelong well-being of our horses and the sustainability of our equine programming.
