About the event
Reading in the Pasture at AHHS
Slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect through stories, nature, and the quiet presence of horses.
Reading in the Pasture is a peaceful literacy and wellness experience held among the rescued horses at Art, Heart & Hoofbeats Sanctuary. Participants are invited to bring a favorite book or enjoy one from our community library while sitting quietly near the herd in a safe and supported environment.
As horses graze, rest, and move naturally around us, participants practice mindfulness, emotional regulation, observation, and calm connection. The experience encourages confidence in reading, relaxation, and a deeper sense of belonging through nature and animal connection.
This activity is especially supportive for:
Youth building reading confidence
