This past year has been incredibly challenging for me. I faced a heart-wrenching loss when one of my best friends, Pat, drowned while we were swimming on vacation. The shock of her death has been profound, intensifying my lifelong struggles with depression and anxiety. Processing this grief has been an ongoing and difficult journey.
Amidst my personal sorrow, I found myself observing the reactions of our herd to the loss of one of their own, LC. Witnessing how the horses grieved, adapted, and supported each other provided unexpected comfort. Ritz sought companionship with Fable, who in turn bonded with Jake. Moon and Sunny found solace in each other, creating new connections that brought them peace. Their ability to navigate and accept change inspired me to seek comfort and adjust to my new reality.
